Almost ironically, today is the first official day of winter. Last night was a crazy, stormy, snowy, windy, icey night. This morning the Portland Metro area, including Gresham, has pretty much come to a stand still.
At my house the foot of snow is covered by a thick layer of ice. The trees make a funny crackling sound in the wind.

When I lived in Portland we called that a Silver Thaw. Everything frozen. Trees get very brittle and snap like twigs. I am tired of this freezy stuff. MB
