Skywatch Friday - Astoria Column

My Skywatch submission this week is looking up at the historic Astoria Column. Astoria is one of the very oldest towns in Oregon, located on the coast about 2.5 hrs west of Gresham and Portland. This was taken last year about this time. This year, the Astoria Column is undergoing renovations to its inner staircase, which you can climb to the top. It should open again this spring (I hope!!)

Nice pick for today. I guess you have a decent view from up there!

Great shot. I love Astoria and come up to visit as often as possible. It is a very historical place and I love nautical history. Thanks for sharing. I will wait until the renovation is over to visit the Column. Thanks for the information.

Very beautiful and decorative on the outside. How nice that it can be climbed for a great view, I am sure.
