I love this time of year most of all because of the mushrooms. We have so many unique varieties that appear in the autumn. This one has always been my favorite. It stands about 4 inches tall, which is pretty impressive for a delicate fungi!

What an unusual mushroom. It makes me think of the poem by Sylvia Plath - I expect you know it. I love to eat mushrooms provided they are bought at the greengrocer!
