Sherars Falls

I am not through posting pictures from my camping trip to Central Oregon two weeks ago ;) This one is of Sherars Falls on the Deschutes River. Sherar’s Falls is a traditional fishing site used by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. Purchased by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs in the 1970s, the falls and lands adjacent to them have been put into trust. Currently, the Bureau of Land Management maintains the lands for the Tribe, however, tribal members continue to build their scaffols and fish for salmon at the falls.

  1. That is an incredible flow of water coming down! Lots of hydropower! I can almost feel the roar...

  2. This must have been an amazing place to go camping. You did a wonderful job catching the energy of the water. Thanks for sharing.

  3. My sister has a place in Hood River, very nice! I like this image.

  4. Beautiful photo of the falls....hope you had a good camping trip.

  5. Oh how I miss Oregon! I grew up there (Eugene) but moved to California in the 80's. Oregon, especially where you live is gorgeous. Beautiful pictures! --Delores

  6. You've not only given me a gorgeous photo, I also now have a new destination for the spring. Have a wonderful Outdoor Wednesday.

  7. Who would even think a fish could go up that! Amazing and beautiful photo!

  8. Beautiful photos on your blog! and I agree: GO BEAVS!

I appreciate everyone that stops by to check out the Mt Hood to Portland, Oregon area through my photos ... Have a wonderful day!
