Skywatch Friday - Where did the blue sky go?

Just this past Monday and Tuesday we enjoyed highs in the 70's and gorgeous blue skies. Hard to believe with these grey cloudy skies today and the 50 degree weather :(

Introducing Stubbs

Meet Stubbs (he has a very un-PC name due to his lack of a long, squirrel tail).

He is the overly tame squirrel that lives behind our place. Day in and day out you can find him running around burying peanuts. I love watching him, and the other day realized I had never taken any pictures of him in action. So here he is. Hes a funny little guy ;)

(PS) Update from the posting from yesterday... City of Portland and University of Oregon have come to an agreement to make the famous Made in Oregon sign just read "Oregon". Whew! I think that is a great compromise.

There is a controversy going on in Portland right now regarding the above pictured Made In Oregon sign, which faces west across the Willamette River from downtown Portland, and is seen by everyone passing through on I5. The University of Oregon in Eugene owns the sign and wants to change the much recognized wording to "Universtity of Oregon". The city of Portland is in talks about taking ownership of the sign so that it will remain the way it is, which I agree with. Even changing the wording to "Portland" or something would be more appropriate, in my opinion, than changing it to "University of Oregon", which has no direct significance in this area. Tonight the Portland City Council will reach their decision.

Mellow Yellow Monday - Park Time!

The rainy weather is finally clearing up. This past weekend it was actually in the 70's at times. I went with my friend and her kids to the park for some quality outdoor time. Just feeling the sun on your back is so refreshing! I thought this shot from the park was good for Mellow Yellow Monday :)
