I am not sure what this means. Usually you see woolly bear caterpillars in the autumn. they are said to be able to predict the upcoming winter conditions. According to folklore of the United States, it is believed that if a woolly bear caterpillar's orange stripe is thick, the winter weather will be mild and if the orange stripes are narrow, the winter will be severe. I am not sure what a springtime woolly bear would be predicting, do you???
This particular woolly bear I find to be interesting because of his long grey hairs too... I have not really seen this before. Whatever he is predicting, I want to believe. He seems old and wise... for a caterpillar ;)
