One of my very favorite things to take photos of is insects (particularly little spiders) on flowers. This has always been my favorite. An oldie from my archives, but for some reason makes me hopeful for good things to come.Friday, July 10, 2009

Silver Falls

Todays picture is of the South Falls at Silver Falls State Park. The state park boasts 25 miles of hiking trails that visits 10 gorgeous waterfalls. South Falls is the most popular and easily accessible of the waterfalls. It is also the tallest free-falling drop at 177 feet. If you look closely, you can see the hikers walking on the trail behind the falls as well.

Portlands "Big Pink"

I am posting to another new meme today. Ruby Red Tuesday!!! This picture is of Portlands second tallest skyscraper, the US Bankcorp Tower. It is also known to the locals as the "Big Pink", due to the pinkish reflection of the sunlight off the windows that you can usually see. But sometimes it appears shades of purple, orange, grey, or in this one, almost ruby!!!

Scenic Crossing

This is my first entry for Monochrome Monday. It is one of the many old bridges that can be found on the Historic Columbia Gorge Hwy, a 70 mile stretch of winding road that passes such scenic areas as Crown Point, Multnomah Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and more.
