College Football BEGINS!

Yesterday marked the beginning of the football season. My husband and I are very into college football, namely the Oregon State Beavers, who play their first game tomorrow.

This picture was taken last year at the beginning of the Civil War Game between our Beavers and the Oregon Ducks, who, in my opinion, nationally embarrassed themselves yesterday with a poorly played game and a noteworthy display of unsportsmanlike conduct. A very interesting, and very unexpected, beginning to the 2009 season ;)

Silhouette

Autumn is right around the corner. This picture was taken a few autumns ago. Luckily, we are not quite to the bare-tree stage yet. But I thought this image was fitting for this weeks Lens Day Challenge topic, silhouette.

Have you ever had the feeling you were being watched??

Can you spot the frog?? I barely noticed him, but had the strange feeling as I was getting ready to take the pictures of the bubbles in this creek that I was being watched. After noticing him, I zoomed out to get him in the photograph too!

Forest Creek

This late afternoon picture of Still Creek reminds me very much of growing up in the Mt Hood National Forest. It looks just like my backyard ;)

Queen Annes Lace

There are huge fields of Queen Annes Lace (also known as Wild Carrot) blooming in the area. These are young flowers. When they get a little older, one black flower blooms in the center of the white flower "nest". Very pretty.
