Central Oregon's endless clear blue skies

I am headed to Prineville tomorrow to visit my Dad, who had his 61st birthday last Sunday. Located in Central Oregon, Prineville is about 3 hours drive away. It is very close to the Cascade Range, and from my Dads old property you could see this view. The larger mountain here is Mt Bachelor (a big ski/snowboard attraction), and to the right, the Three Sisters mountains. The fields of grass or grain and the endless blue skies are a very common sight here as well.

Foggy Day (so far)

This is the historic Timberline Lodge, up on Mt Hood. It is best known as the hotel in "The Shining" (the outdoor view at least). Soon this whole area will be covered in snow. I did catch a glimpse of the mountain through the clouds and fog yesterday, and there has been some snowfall already. I will try to get a picture of it this weekend when it is in the 90's!!! But for now, the fog is keeping the temperatures low.

Random Leaves are ALREADY falling

I am not ready for autumn yet :( I have seen a small dusting of falling leaves here and there. I think this is provoked by the cooler, autumn-like weather and winds we have been having lately. However, they are saying we are supposed to be back up in the 90's by the end of this week. Summers not gone quite yet ...**Whew**

Portland Skyline from the Portland Rose Test Gardens

The International Rose Test Garden is a very popular attraction in Portland. Over 200 varieties of roses are grown here. The garden sits up on the hill facing east, and you can see the Portland skyline through the trees.
