On my way home from work two days ago, I spotted a rainbow in the distance. This is not too unusual this time of year. The odd part was the sky behind it. The clouds were all tinted red because behind me the sun was setting. It seemed to distort the colors of the rainbow itself a bit too.Friday, October 16, 2009

What kind of little flower is this???

I spotted this little, star shaped flower floating along with the seed fluff in the creek. Does anyone know what kind of flower this is?

Tree in transition

Funny, the different speeds that trees change to their fall colors. There are some trees that are totally leaf-less already, some that have changed to all red or yellow. And then there are some like this one that have just started their transition. The outside leaves are already red and orange, but the more tucked away inner leaves are still green.

Juniper Berries
I am trying a new meme today -- Blue Monday! Its a bit challanging to find something blue out in nature that is not sky/water related. But I thought this picture of juniper berries, taken in central Oregon when I was there a few weeks ago, was appropriate!
