The sun peeked out a few times yesterday and this morning. I think this duck was stretching out to enjoy the rare warmth. Lately, it is getting more frequent to hear the geese overhead, flying south for winter. I hope to get a good picture of them this autumn. Too bad I get out of work after dark :(

These inedible Snow Berries can be found all over, in clumps around damp, swampy areas (which are plentiful around her this time of year!). They usually bear the fruit in the late summer, and the berries hang around long after the leaves have left the plant. I took this picture before this happened, cause once the leaves are gone, its much less attractive to photograph ;)

This weekend I clipped down the rose bushes in my back yard in preperation for winter. But not before taking this one last picture of this late blooming rose. If only I could pass the fragrance of this beautiful rose along with the image ... ;)
