Yellow

About a week and a half ago, we got snow here in the Portland area. That was the first and only snow so far this year. Much different that the past two years, when by now there was much more snowfall. I am not complaining, but this boring, rainy weather doesnt make for very interesting picture taking opportunities. SO I am forced to post something a little older while I wait for new opps to come! This yellow fire hydrant was almost buried last year by the accumulation.

Ah! I do know about gray and rainy! Here in Seattle we're having much the same! But what a terrific Y shot for the day this one is!! Have a great week!

That was a nice variation on yellow, and a good use of the snow. Not possible here, since our hydrants are green, but we do have the snow.

Very pretty! I love just the bit of yellow peeping out. Good idea to post a picture from last year-- I may have to do the same. Grey will only go so far...

almost a harbinger of spring - we are marooned by the snow here (even by a main road on the edge of a city!) though a brave soul with a 4x4 battled to the supermarket and did emergency shopping for several folk and then we had a communal party.

PS I find the text of your blog extremely difficult to read against the red background.

Very nice shot!:-) I chose yellow also.
Have a nice evening!

mellow yellow - probably needs a pole next to it, like the hydrants in Albany, NY have, so you CAN find them in the snow.

That touch of yellow is very cheerful. Grey weather is truly very boring.

I love the splash of yellow showing through the snow. We are having many days of gray and blah weather here in Rocklin, CA. Winter brings the tule fog.

A very nice Y. So colourful beneath the snow.

I was tempted to put Y as yellow too...I like the color of the fire hydrant.

Fabulous capture! I did yellow, too, but different from yours. Do come and see! :D

Great shot! I suppose the gray and rainy can get old very quickly, but our snow has been followed by frigid temperatures--I am ready for warmer weather!

Nice to meet you--my daughter moved to Beaverton this summer to attend grad school in Portland. I went with her to help her move in, but didn't have much time to sightsee. What I did see of the surrounding area was absolutely beautiful!

Terrific shot! I lived in Portland for a few years, saw few traces of snow but several ice events.

Nice photo. I don't mind that it came out of the archives!

Took me a while to see the fire hydrant, a really nice photo. Hope the weather will be soon better for your area.

Our fire hydrants here are red no yellow.

The yellow leaps out of the snow.
Hope you have a very Happy New Year.

All of my posts are old ones this time around! Nothing wrong with that. ;)

Love the fire hydrant under the snow. One reason they paint them that colour, I suppose!
