The Ocean in Oregon

This past weekend we visited the little Oregon town of Neskowin. On the beach in Neskowin is a "ghost forest". A few years ago, a series of heavy storms moved enough sand off the beach to reveal the stumps of an old forest that is estimated to be around 2000 years old.

I love the Oregon coast. That is an amazing story about the ghost forest. It reminds me of our lake where they logged the shoreline before the dam was installed in 1900. When the water level drops in the summer our ghost forests emerge as well. There are also some old cabin and camp areas exposed for beachcombing. - Margy

I had heard of that, but didn't have a chance to see it while I was still living in Oregon! Really fascinating! Great post for the day! Hope your week is going well!

I remember reading about that. We visited that part of the coastline before the trees were exposed. It's a beautiful spot.

Oh, wow .. I would LOVE to see that! One day we plan a trip which includes driving to Vancouver from San Francisco - maybe we'll come and find the ghost forest then?
