Because of the lousy weather lately, I have not ventured outside for any interesting photos. This weekend is different. The weather is nice today and its supposed to last through the weekend. I am going on a hike up on Mt Hood, and will be sure to get a picture of the unusual snow levels that are still accumulating up there. Today, however, I am dipping into my archive pictures for my post. This was taken in May of 2007, and as you can see, there were bare patches already on the mountain. This is NOT the case this year. Next week I will post pictures from my hike, including a recent Hood pic so you can see the comparison!Friday, May 7, 2010

Fantastic shot! Love the colors! It has been dreary, hasn't it? But it's gorgeous here today, too, and supposed to be for the next several days! Hope you have a great hike on Hood! Enjoy!

Love the contrast of the bold dark mountain and the pastels in the sky. Great choice to share from your archives.
Great composition, a beautiful sky, the terrain silhouette and the magnificent mount made a perfect scene!
This is beautiful! Look forward to your pics when you return!!
Hallo!!!
Tanks for reading my blogg!!
lovly fotos you have .
Living in the shadow of Mt Hood must give you a loy of photo opportunities, but I imagine it is also very cold. I have enjoyed looking through your posts. Have a great weekend
Pretty!
Wow, this is a sight to make the soul sing. Fantastic shot!
Hi,
Lovely mountains you have at your place. It's never snows here due to climate. Live in the tropics where it is always warm. The slight red colours on the sky makes the picture more interesting.
Thanks for dropping by at my blog. Hope you have a great weekend. Have a nice day.
Archived or not, it's a new view of Mt. Hood to «Louis» and a delightful one at that!
«Louis» thanks you for visiting San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.
Beautiful photo...the colors against the white peak are gorgeous!
Beautiful -- can never see too much of mt Hood. Hope you have a wonderful hike. We're former Oregonians, so I love visiting.
Sorry you've been having bad weather - no fun! I love this picture - beautiful! Have fun on the hike and I look forward to the pictures :)
Beautiful skies! Looking forward to your new pics!
:)
Great white mountain and wonderful color of the sky!
Archives or not, what a glorious photo! I love the pink slivers in the sky, you can almost feel the frostiness just by looking at the photo. Fantastic!
It is a beautiful scene. We are flat land country where corn is king and soy beans and wheat come in second and third. I sky doesn't touch the ground and doesn't go on forever. You are probably in God's country and don't know it.
