So, is using "X-ing" as my "X" post for ABC Wednesday cheating? I think not. X-ing is the abbreviation for crossing (I've seen it on signs, such as train X-ing...).This photo was taken X-ing the Glenn Jackson Bridge, AKA the I-205 bridge. Its been going on a month that the bridge has been under construction, so X-ing (hehe) from Oregon to Washington is quite the hassle. What normally takes 5 minutes tops takes over an hour usually. But it also makes the traffic slow enough that I was able to snap this photo of Mt Hood looming over the Columbia River. Imagine how shocking this view was to Lewis and Clark when they first saw it!

I think we took 205 when we moved up here. Is that the loop that swings east of Portland b/f crossing the Columbia? Of course Mt. Hood was not out that day.
Great post for the day and a photo of one of the most beautiful places in the world! I do miss the view I had when I lived in Portland! Hope the rest of your week goes well!

What a magnificient view. It was the one good thing in your long wait time X-ing.
Breath taking photo! I love mountains! Great X ! Have a wonderful Wednesday!
I have used a variation of X-ing myself, so that is not cheating. And just that photo with the mountain, river and all was well worth it, anyhow.
That's a breathtaking view!! wish I had something like it when I am stuck in traffic :)

Lovely photo. And not a cheat!

It worked out good. You were able to get a very nice photo and share it withus. When ever I travel I often wonder about what the first people to see these structures thought - I imagine they were hardships for them to cross. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful photo of a beautiful mountain. I just returned from a Portland trip; one daughter lives in Portland and because the other daughter lives in Vancouver, I found myself on that bridge more than a few times - it is a pain!
Sometimes you can get the best shots when taking a detour. This one is fantastic.
Wow, what a beautiful country you live in. I love that sight. Great shot.
Hahaha! Clever X-ing post. I'm glad you could see the positive side of being in slow traffic. Photography is so good for maintaining a positive attitude. :)
Just beautiful! Happy Watery Wednesday!
So wonderful natur. And I love the mountain in background.
Have a nice evening:-)
Wow, what a wonderful view of the mountain. Just a gorgeous photo!
A wonderful sight to see every day and wonderfully calming in a delay.
lovely. I have only seen that mountain from an airplane sadly.
A dynamic view! Love the snowy peaks while in the foreground is lovely blue water!
I love Mt. Hood. Whenever we fly into the NW we see it peeking through the clouds. On a clear day, I feel like I can reach out and touch it.
Great shot.
Terrific scenery.

What a great shot! My. Hood looks like Mt Fuji before it blew its top off.
It is a beautiful mountain and I would X any desert to get to it.....
Who would have thought x-ing! It is an accepted word!
It is so picturesque with the snow capped mountain!
Looks so impressive!
My dictionary shows Xing defined as a crossing. So, perfectly legal! Gorgeous photo! The Columbia and Mt Hood are both so majestic.
Definitely legit in my book! And a lovely example too! Breathtaking!
It is certainly a magnificent image!!
Beautiful view!
I think most of us 'cheat' a little with X. Nice photo!
