I truly am terrible at taking pictures of fireworks. I need to learn whatever technique people use that makes them look better. The above pic is one of the better ones I took last night of the fireworks display we enjoyed up in Vancouver Washington (Oregon has VERY strict rules on fireworks, so many people cross the Columbia River to enjoy the better displays up in the state to our north). The only reason I like this picture is the variety of colors that I managed to capture. Ho Hum. Maybe by next year I will learn to do better ;)

I like it! I have been trying to learn how to photograph fireworks, too. Last year was my first try, and it truly sucked. This year was better. Every year I have learned something different and now can't wait for next year to come around. Hope you had a happy 4th.

Are you kidding? That's a fantastic shot!!!

I shot some fireworks back in the 80's that came out pretty good. I know I was using a tripod and remote shutter release and the rest was just guess work.

very pretty! I usually take fireworks with an open bulb and use a shutter release. You captured a great image
