First day of Autumn Harvest Moon!

Did you guys get out to see the "Super Harvest Moon" on Wednesday this week? I did! It was the first day of Autumn in the northern hemisphere and perfectly coincided with a full moon!

Viewing it from my backyard was somewhat of an optical illusion. The clouds were thick, but we were lucky enough to have openings between them. The clouds moved VERY quickly across the sky. If you stared long enough, it almost looked as though the moon was moving that fast and the clouds were stationary. Very cool.

  1. Super shot! Alas, our skies were too cloudy to see the Super Harvest Moon.

  2. Gorgeous shot of the Harvest Moon!

  3. Great capture of the Harvest Moon. And yes I did go out and view the moon. I took a few pictures, however, they didn't turn out very well. We had clouds also, coming and going.

  4. I did not see the harvest moon on Wednesday, but it looks beautiful here! Glad you posted it.

  5. We were socked in at my house so didn't see it. But i knew it was a full moon b/c all the electronics in the office decided to have issues and our crazy clients came out of the woodwork.

  6. You really got a good closeup of the moon!

  7. Great mystery moon shot! Thanks for sharing.

  8. I tried to capture the moon, but wasn't successful this time. Wasn't it magnificent? You captured it perfectly.

I appreciate everyone that stops by to check out the Mt Hood to Portland, Oregon area through my photos ... Have a wonderful day!
