Mountain Meadow
The grasses of this meadow are starting to turn brown and the wildflowers are on their last legs. Very soon, this whole area will be covered in feet of snow.
Hey is that a cloud or steam? I had a climber friend who said that there are steam vents up there on Hood. I don't think Rainier has any active steam vents, but Mt. Baker does.
Wow, senza offesa per nessun bloggers, ma la tua foto è la più bella che ho potuto vedere per questa settimana di M.World !!! Meravigliosa questa natura così selvaggia... molto bel fatta la fotografia. I miei complimenti ! Buona giornata :) Myriam

What a fantastic pic!! I had a dream about the Timberline Lodge the other night. It was pretty weird.
Marvelous post for the M Day! And it is such a gorgeous place regardless of the season! Have a great week!

Nice picture and found the explanation very interesting. It does not snow here where I am living.
I just love the mountain meadows as they change color. Those in the Sierras are beginning to do the same. It makes me feel as if I'm in another world.
It's still very lovely to my eyes!
Beautiful picture! It's the ''feet of snow that fells me in my tracks. :)

Wonderful! Is that a snow-capped mountain in the background?
