Hovering Clouds over the Ocean

One last beach photo from last weekends camping trip. The entire weekend, there was a thick layer of clouds hovering out over the ocean. They never did make it to shore though. The weather was warm and clear! In this photo you can see the transition from the cloud layer to the bright blue skies. The crane in the distance was parked on the jetty, doing some reinforcement work.

This weekend, I am traveling to my old stomping grounds!!! I am going to go up the Salmon River on Mt Hood, literally a couple miles from where I lived. I hope to have some woodsey forest photos to share :)

Take a moment to relax

I thought the remains of this log were pretty cool. The water and sand had rounded all the edges. A unique place to sit and just enjoy the sun and the sea breezes!

Ocean Rocks and Tidepools

This is the same area I pictured yesterday. The biggest rock (to the left) is the rock that had the arched cavern through it. We arrived too late to enjoy the tidepools for the day. But next time I go down, I will make a point to read my tide chart and go back to check out the pools.

Rock Arch

Just north of Garabaldi, where we camped this past weekend, there are some really cool rock formations and tide pools. This is one of the rocks. A big cavern creates a cool arch in the rock, with a view of the jetty behind it.

A week of beach photos

This past weekend we went with a large group and camped at the Barview Jetty campground in Garabaldi OR. Its a fairly nice campground right on the Oregon Coast. There was a million people there it seemed like, which is a really different camping experience from what my husband and I are used to. But it was a good time. Great friends, good food, and lots of laughs.

This week I will post some of my beach photos from the trip! The first is these cool snails that were in a rock crevice, hiding from the sun. Surrounding them were what looked to me like yellow eggs of some sort.
