Touch of Color

Today I am breaking out an oldie. Photo Fridays meme is "Photoshop Skills". I dont personally use Photoshop much except for adjust saturation or brighness. I tend to like to keep to the more natural look, vs the tacky, overdone quality that many photoshopped images take on. But this is one of my favorites from back when I was learning the program.

This is the Collowash River, which is off the larger Clackamas River up in the Mt Hood National Forest. I changed the landscape to black and white, but kept the water colors exactly as they appeared that day.

Abandoned Picnic

A while back, this was probably a prime picnic area. Its close to the river, in the shade but still is warmed by some sunshine, and is surrounded by the green woods. But since noone has used it in years, the woods have taken back the spot!

Blooming Nastertiums

I love nastertiums. They are so easy to grow. The variety of colors that the plants produce are so bold. Yellow, orange, red, pink, white... took this photo of a new bloom when out watering last week :)

Dragonflies = Good Luck?

I had last Friday off and my husband and I took a trip up to our favorite lake to soak in the sun and do some fishing. This gorgeous dragonfly landed a few times on my husbands fishing rod. Is this good luck??? Couldnt hurt, I say. He did catch two small fish shortly after this photo was taken!

Busy Bee

The sun was out and the bees were buzzing this weekend. I came across this active little guy and had to try to get a shot. I love the pollen caught in the fuzz on his back :)
