Taken in Merlin, Oregon. Sunsets are so cool to watch. Starting out pinkish, slowly getting more bright until the oranges are intense. And then all of a sudden, its gone! This orange only lasted a few seconds. I am glad it turned out :)Friday, October 15, 2010

Peaceful

I think theres something peaceful about this single leaf I found, just resting on the sidewalk. It layed alone there, covered by the morning rain. And you can't beat the pretty autumn colors!

Rogue River
Posting a photo of a river I have never photographed before. This past weekend I was down in southern Oregon in a small town called Merlin (just north of Grants Pass) visiting family. When I took this photo, I was way up on the edge of valley looking down. All the trees are yellowing for autumn. We meant to go down to the water later, but the fun times with the family kept us away. Later this week I will post the awesome sunset we witnessed that night over the valley though!Tuesday, October 12, 2010
Mountain Meadow
The grasses of this meadow are starting to turn brown and the wildflowers are on their last legs. Very soon, this whole area will be covered in feet of snow.

The end of summer gardening
While fall has some perks (the smells and colors mostly), it signals the end of my favorite time of year and to one of my favorite activities, gardening. Ive slowly been putting my summer garden to bed and preping for the long winter ahead.
