Clearcut

There are a lot of these clear cut areas around the mountain area. If you look closely, you can see the baby trees that have been planted though. Hope for the future, I guess. Kinda reminds me of my front yard now, after the tree I wrote about a few weeks ago has been taken down. My yard and its one tree is a much smaller scale, of course.

Upper Umbrella Falls

I took this photo almost a month ago, back when the weather was still pretty nice out. Now it is wet, cold, raining, miserable. Not exactly inviting to go out and take a hike or take photos. It is the autumn slump I go through this time of year, where it getting increasingly difficult to post things. I will do my best to keep up the blogging and hopefully will have some new stuff in coming weeks. Until then, bear with me!!!

Hawthorne Bridge

The Hawthorne Bridge is typically photographed from the east side of the Willamette River west looking towards downtown Portland, as seen here. I took this picture from the waterfront in Downtown Portland looking south-east. You can see the lift at the west side, used to let boat traffic thorough.
