A Familiar Looking Jail

Day 3 of my Astoria, OR theme. Todays photo is of a familiar landmark to anyone that has seen the movie "The Goonies". The first few minutes of the movie were filmed at the old county jail building, which is situated right in the middle of town. This photo was taken a few years ago. It has been completely refurbished sense then and is now the Oregon Film Museum, featuring the movies that have been filmed in the area. Apparently, over 300 movies have been filmed in Oregon. Many of these include Astoria landscape, such as Kindergarten Cop, Free Willy and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II.

This is bringing me a great belly laugh! What a way to start my day. I soooo love it! I knew of course about The Goonies but I didn't know about the others. Thanks for sharing that bit of info...

I missed the Goonies, but am a big film fan and anywhere that has a film museum cant be all bad! Looks like they did a good job on refurb.
