Mt Hood, Close Up

I was standing right at the timber line when I took this photo. Behind Timberline Lodge there is still a few feet of trees before it breaks into a vast snowfield. Only a few stragglers are able to survive above this point. This was taken Sunday, the first sunny, clear day in weeks. The constant snowfall made the white mountain glow, almost blinding!

  1. Beautiful shot!!!! when I was at Timberline in mid-Sept of 2007, there was very little snow (obviously, lol). I love this way better. How was the road up?

  2. Looks like it's going to be a while before the sun makes a dent in all that snow!

    I WONDER WHY

    I wonder why
    Some love the sky
But not the wind and rain.

    I wonder, friend,
    If sky will end—
It’s too much for my brain!
