I have noticed that in the past week, the rhododendrons in the area have started blooming. It all seems to happen at once! One day they are just tight buds with no sign of flowering, and then they are like this one, just hours from opening.

Rhodies are so pretty! It's a shame they only bloom once and for a brief period of time.
Rhodies and Oregon just seem to go together. I remember camping among these lovely flowers. They made everything look like a Fairyland.
