I love it when I am out and about and come across a wildflower I have not ever seen (or noticed) before. This is an example of that. When I hiked to the face of Bald Mountain last weekend, the meadow around and below our lookout was covered in wildflowers. Most I recognized, but this pretty little white lily was a new one for me. It was also a bit of a challenge finding the name of the flower. It is known as "Three spot Mariposa Lily" and "Baker's Mariposa Lily" or "Cat Ear". I like Cat Ear. It seems appropriate ;)Monday, August 1, 2011
