Hardhack, which is part of the rose family, is a pretty common plant found around the lakes up on Mt Hood. The normally pink cluster of flowers (as seen in the background) dries up and looks like this in the autumn before spreading its seeds.

  1. A very interesting picture. I like the blur, and especially the front contrast with the background.

  2. How pretty! I've seen these I think but never knew what they were called.

  3. Wonderful photo. I love that you have the flower of the plant in the background.

  4. Lovely!

Please come and take a look at some of the RUBIES at my page.

I appreciate everyone that stops by to check out the Mt Hood to Portland, Oregon area through my photos ... Have a wonderful day!
