This was the look of the sky and hills in the distance yesterday mid-morning. The clouds lifted shortly after, and we did see a bit of sunshine. Helpful in melting away the snow. Around 4, it started to snow again fairly heavily, but stuck minimally. And that was it. This morning, there is a bit of residual snow in the shady areas, but there is not a cloud in the sky. A gorgeous, blue sky day today. Our "Winter Storm 2011" was pretty pathetic around here.

Some areas around the Portland area got 4-6 inches of snow last night and early this morning. At my house there is only about an inch and a half. The birds appreciated me throwing out some old bread for them this morning. Tomorrow, the temperatures are supposed to drop. Any melting that may occur today will turn into a horrible icy mess.

The forecast doesnt look very nice for the next 24 hours here in the Portland metro area. My husband and I were coming home and commenting on the black clouds and the overall gloomy darkness of the day. As we pulled into our garage, the skies opened and it began to hail...sideways! It only lasted a few minutes, but is a sign of more to come as the temperatures drop overnight. My poor to-be-flowers ... :(

The new plants that have sprouted new leaves and buds over the past few weeks better watch out. The forecast is calling for snow and cold temperatures over the next 5 days. This AM there was snow mixed with the typical raindrops on my way to work.
