First Slug Sighting

EW! Slugs are up there near the top of my "dislike" list. They are nasty, slimy, and they wreck havoc on my garden!!! But, since this was officially the first slug I saw out and about, and it was minding its own business outside of my garden beds, I snapped a quick shot.

Tricky Sky

Oregon is known for its crazy weather patterns. It can literally be sunny, snowy, rainy, hailing, lightning, etc. all in one afternoon, sometimes even in one hour. Sunday was one of those types of days.

I made myself get out of the house because I was so tired of being cooped up indoors. There were a few sunbreaks, after all, and I took advantage of one such break. I drove out into the country, first stopping at a small orchard I know of. The clouds above were dark and grey looking east, as pictured above. You can see that the ground has sun hitting it though. I expected to see a rainbow, but no such luck. I turned around to photograph one of the apple blossoms and as you can see in the below photo, the sky facing west was bright blue and clear.

Ah Oregon ;)

Water Droplets are my FAVORITE

Sorry if I get a bit excessive with the water droplet photos in the next few days, but I totally love photographing them. They are so delicate. I love the way they refract light. And they make any plain leaf or flower so interesting and full of life! My walk in the rain on Sunday produced many water droplet photo keepers, but I think I liked this one best.

Quick

The water raging in nearby Eagle Creek was QUICK this weekend! The normally quite lazy creek (no, its not a river, it is just as wide as one now because of all the recent rainfall) was raging on Sunday. I took this one with only a very slightly delayed shutter to still show the waves that were splashing.

Also, a "quick" thanks to all my new followers. Jen over at My Lifelong Quest for Happily Ever After became my 100th follower yesterday! I so appreciate everyone that stops by to check out the Mt Hood area through my photos :)

Wet Weekend

This weekend it pretty much rained the whole time. Being a true Oregonian means that you realize this time of year is wet and you either deal with it or you stay inside cooped up. But how could you? My dog and I couldn't. On Sunday I had enough of being inside and braved the drizzle. We went a few spots I had not been in a long time. This week I will post some of my wet findings.
