Bridal Veil Creek
This photo is a teaser. The past two weeks I have been posting photos from my day trip along the Old Columbia River Highway. So far, I have posted about Latourell Falls and Wahkeena Falls. Todays photo is of Bridal Veil Creek, just below the beautiful falls that I will post about next week. You can just barely make out some of the mist between the rocks in the background from the bottom of the falls. Stay tuned...

Wahkeena Waterfall
This is the second posting of a waterfall from my day trip up the Old Columbia River Highway two weekends ago. This photo is of the lower portion of the two-tiered falls. The falls were originally known as Gordon Falls. In 1915, after the completion of the OCR highway, the falls were renamed to Wahkeena Falls – a Yakima Indian word meaning “most beautiful”.

Wild Strawberry
There was a lot of wild strawberry growing along the beach areas at Clear Lake last weekend. Since it is up in the mountains, the flowering plants are just a bit behind in their blooming cycle. The strawberries I have planted in my garden this year are already growing small baby berries!
