The first snowfall of the year hit the lower lying mountain communities this past week. I drove up on Sunday and was forced to turn around and seek a hiking area in lower elevation, since I did not have proper traction for the conditions. Areas as low as Sandy had snow on the sides of the road, and a few miles up the highway in Rhododendron, the side roads were not accessible to anyone not sporting 4 wheel drive at the very least.

Mushroom Monday
Seriously, I every Monday lately it seems as though I post a mushroom photo. But I love taking them. There is such a huge variety out there right now!
