Killer Spider
Seriously creepy. The size of the spiders in autumn is pretty incredible. This one was minding his own business in the center of his web. His bold markings and colors was a photo opportunity waiting to happen. I snapped away. When I went to leave, I noticed another spider of the same variety nearby, only larger, and killing some sort of large beetle. It was super gross. I high tailed it out of there ;)

Strangely beautiful but I sure don't like them and I would go the other way too.
His Meanness is probably a Her Meaness ... unless, of course the bigger Meanness is the her Meanness ... I would have taken pictures of the bigger Meanness making the kill. You are, after all some distance away, right? I would be using a telephoto lens for sure. Beautiful spider in any case ... thanks for the moment of goose bumps:)

I hate spiders! That said.. this is a cool shot.
We do have enormous spiders this time of year. Finding one in the house.. I totally freak.
I agree with Laura-Pretty Pix, hate, hate, HATE spiders!! (shudder)
You did find a rather attractive one though. :)
Good shot. I hate spiders.

Killer Spiders, Yikes!! Nice pic.
Excellent photo! Is it really a killer, though? We get enormous grass spiders here and they occasionally find their way into my garage or onto the front stoop. I don't mind the spiders as long as they mind their own business and leave me to mine!
Hope you didn't have to get to close for this great, colorful shot.

That's a great spider picture! I like to photograph spiders and their webs too and I post them often on my blog!
