Orange You Glad It's Friday #4

Welcome to week four of Orange You Glad It's Friday. Can you believe it is almost halfway through September already? I am already starting to spots signs of autumn around my neck of the woods. Autumn means orange, and I hope to see a lot of posts in the coming weeks of the changing colors!

This weeks featured photo comes to us from Ida at Wishes, Dreams, & Other Things. I love her post of the Chinese Lantern flowers she happened upon during a recent walk. She mentioned how her aunt grew them in her garden when she was growing up. My mom did the same. Some great memories brought back with her photo submission.

Every Friday 12:01am PST, I will open the blog up for posts. Rules are the same as at most other memes. Post a picture that you have taken or piece of art you have created (or have permission to use) with a little or a lot of orange, share your link below, visit others and comment on their orange takes, leave a comment here if you wish.

Each week, I will feature a favorite photo from the previous week with a link to the photographers blog.

Be sure to include an Orange You Glad It's Friday Badge or link back to this blog in your post. To add a badge, just copy and paste the HTML code from below!

Moon Sliver

I can't help myself. I have to post another gorgeous moon photo. I love the moon. This week it was a bit of a challenge to photograph, because it was under the horizon most of the time, both daylight and early evening hours.

Little Zig Zag River

I love the short walk up the Little Zig Zag River. It is only about a half mile until you reach the falls, which I posted about yesterday. The walk is often totally secluded, and the smells and sounds of the small river winding through the thick green forest are so peaceful.

Impressive Water Flow

Interesting!

We did a short hike up Little Zig Zag River to Zig Zag Falls and were impressed by the intense water flow. I have no idea why there was so much water, since it is now very late summer. I took this shot a few years ago in August, and that amount of water flow is much more common!

I didn't notice until I got home and uploaded the photos from the hike onto my computer that the leaves were changing at the top of the falls, where the sun hits the maple leaves on a sunny day. Sigh. Autumn is coming so soon.

A Change In Weather

The weather took a turn yesterday. All week it was really warm, topping out at almost 90 on Friday and Saturday. It was only about 70 at the highest on Sunday though. With the change in temperatures comes the morning dew, which I love to photograph!

I surpassed 400 likes on Facebook, thanks to my blogging friends, fellow Facebook photographers, and those that have recently started posting to Orange You Glad It's Friday. Thanks everyone, and if you have not already done so, "Like" Hood Photography on Facebook!
