Orange You Glad It's Friday #16

Welcome to week 16 of Orange You Glad It's Friday!

How was your first week of December? Are you getting into the holiday spirit, or holding out for a few more weeks? I am still holding out, although, I do plan on going and helping my Mom set up her tree sometime soon so I can take some cute Christmas photos of my son with it. It's his first Christmas, after all, and I am anxious to get as many photos as I can to document the fun!

While the holidays are around the corner, it is still autumn, and this super sweet photo from Cindy P at the This and That blog is too cute not to share. Now that is a lot of leaves, and looks like a lot of fun!

Every Friday 12:01am PST, I will open the blog up for posts. Rules are simple. Post a picture that you have taken or piece of art you have created (or have permission to use) with a little or a lot of orange, share your link below, visit others and comment on their orange takes, leave a comment here if you wish.

Each week, I will feature a favorite submission from the previous week with a link to the participants blog.

Check out the blue peeking through! Actually, the forecast has been pretty incorrect the past few days. A few mornings we were lucky enough to see some sun before the predicted rain hit!

Late Year Trillium Lake

Normally, the road to my beloved Trillium Lake is closed this time of year due to snow accumulation. This year, the snow is way behind, and there is still none on the ground up there. I was able to drive in this past weekend. There was no Mt Hood to be seen since it was hidden behind the thick layer of clouds, so I pointed my lens to the autumn grasses along the far banks and the raindrops hitting the surface of the water.

With Wet Weather...

... comes mushrooms! And as you know if you read this blog, I am always on the lookout for a good mushroom find. This is a great one. Last year my Mom came across one of these Amanita mushrooms while out on a walk. I was not with her though, and missed out on the photograph opportunity. Coincidentally enough, this year, a huge patch of them grew right in her neighbors front yard! I could not resist getting out there in between rain showers to snap a few photos of the bright red toadstools-to-be. A great find!

Another Mystery Plant

I can always count on my blog readers to help me out with a mystery plant. Anyone know what plant has these bright purple berries in the late autumn?

UPDATED: A few people have told me that this is a Callicarpa plant. Thanks everyone!
