Up Close and Personal with a Trillium

I have always thought the center of a trillium resembled a three legged octopus, with its swirling tentacles. I also liked how the petals of this wet trillium were almost transparent in places.

  1. Gorgeous shot! I love the tentacles.

  2. I had never thought about the similarity to an octopus, but you are right...
I also love the way petals of so many flowers become almost transparent when they are wet!!!

  3. I just love triliums in spring woods. A lovely shot.

  4. Beautiful flower -- so fresh and clear!

  6. A marvelous macro shot of the trillium. Thank you for sharing this beauty with Today's Flowers. I've never thought of the similarity to octopus tentacles, but you're right, now I look closely I can see them.
