Welcome to Sarah Bettey Photography, featuring photos
from the Mt. Hood to Portland, Oregon areas and beyond

This cityscape, taken from the Pittock Mansion on a clear, summer day, is so "Portlandia". The city is laid out directly below. The foothills and extinct volcanoes of east Portland and Gresham are beyond that - there are 33 cinder cones in a 13 mile radius here. And of course, Mt Hood looms in the distance. I enjoyed seeing the large bird floating on the breeze and into my frame :) The view is a perfect mix of big city and the nature that surrounds us, which is a huge part of what Portland prides itself in.

  1. Nice cityscape shot. And you even "put a bird on it!" :)

  2. Terrific capture of "our" city, Sarah!! And I do love the bird, too! Perfect touch!! Hope you're enjoying our beautiful weather as much as I am!! Have a lovely weekend!

  4. Nice photo for the sky-theme!

  5. Nice shot, I've always thought of Portland as a nice city and somepublications point out parallels between Tulsa and Portland. I tried to like the show Portlandia but could never quite get my head around it.

  6. Cool perspective of city in the foreground of the mountain.

  7. Love this photo of the city, beautiful shot!

  8. Beautiful shot! Makes me want to take a trip and enjoy all the beauty you have to offer in Oregon.
