Paperwhites

I rarely post on the weekends, but I wanted to share this photo of the pretty paperwhites that finally have bloomed from some bulbs my Mom gave me for Christmas. I wish you could smell them!!!

I also wanted to check into the flower memes I normally post to on a weekly basis in the spring, summer and early fall. I have been on hiatus from those memes lately because of the lack of flowers! Soon though, spring will be here and I will be visiting them again!

Orange You Glad It's Friday #24

Welcome to week 24 of Orange You Glad It's Friday!

Can you believe it is already the first day of February?! January was a busy month in my world, and February is looking to be much of the same. I am looking forward to making it through the next month, which includes my birthday and my sons first Valentines Day, and making it to March, which is when we start to see real signs of Spring! YAY SPRING!

Well, I made it 23 weeks with never repeating a featured participant. But this photo was just so amazing, I had to share it with everyone. I don't know what I like most about it. The sunrays. The gravestones silhouetted. The fog. The orange! It is a truly amazing photo. Thank you Lotta from Vid Vatterns Strand for submitting it so we can all enjoy its beauty! Breathtaking...

Stairway to Heaven

These stairs lead down to one of my favorite places, the top of these falls, which I blogged about a few weeks ago. They are old and worn and rugged and perfect.

Eagle Creek

This is Eagle Creek, which winds its way through the farmlands between Sandy and Estacada Oregon. I have to try to remember to refer to it as Clackamas County Eagle Creek because there is another, more popular Eagle Creek around here, located in the Columbia River Gorge. I hope to visit it with my camera sometime this coming summer. But on this day, I ventured to the quiet seclusion of this Eagle Creek, and it was a great choice.

Crystals

While it may not be rainy, it has not been exactly warm. A few mornings I came out to ice covering everything. Beautiful! I grabbed my camera and my macro lens this particular morning and took advantage of the sunlight before it warmed this leaf enough to melt the ice crystals.

Rain Returns

It is not very common in January in Oregon to not have rain for a whole week, but last week was dry an entire 7 straight days! I took advantage by taking my son out on as many walks as possible. It was cold, but dry and not even very windy. Very unusual. But the rains have now returned, and will probably stick around for a while now.
