Orange You Glad It's Friday #27

Welcome to week 27 of Orange You Glad It's Friday!

I have decided to put Orange You Glad It's Friday on hiatus for now. It was a fun meme to help get us through the autumn and winter slower spells, but the flowers are starting to come up, which means I need my once-a-weekday blog post open on Friday to participate to my favorite flower based memes!

I so appreciate everyone that has stopped by to participate, and I may just restart it again next autumn, just in time for the beautiful changing leaves! However, if anyone out there would like to adopt the meme, shoot me an email at hoodphotography@gmail.com. I would love for it to live on year round, but I just do not have the time to be a good host or space on Friday available any more :(

My final pick for photo of the week comes to us from Sinbad and I are on the Loose. If you follow my blog, you know I am a huge sucker for mushroom photos. I had never seen this variety before, and appreciate the hard work it took to get this shot with the low light situation and in creating the awesome shallow depth of field. Thanks for sharing with us!

Details for Orange You Glad It's Friday can be found on the link at the top of the blog.

DON'T FORGET -- Be sure to include an Orange You Glad It's Friday Badge or link back to this blog in your post. To add a badge, just copy and paste the HTML code from below!

Thanks again for your participation!

First Rainbow

Heading home on Saturday, the weather was very typical Oregon. In some spots it was sunshine, and a few miles later, rain. But that makes for great rainbow sighting, and this was the first I had seen this year. I liked it against the dark clouds with the blue peeking out as seen above, but also was able to step back and take a panoramic of the entire arch!

Behind Ponytail Falls

I love going on hikes where you are able to walk behind a waterfall. The view is awesome when you can look out and up and see the water cascading over the cliffs edge above you. This is the back side of Ponytail Falls in the Columbia River Gorge.

Fungi Family

Walking through the forest near the Molalla River this past weekend, there were quite a few trees that were covered on all sides with colonies of these these little shelf fungus.

Suction Cup Lichen

I do not know the true name of this yellow lichen, but I dubbed it Suction Cup Lichen, because looks like little upside-down suction cups covering this entire branch.
