Oregon Grape

This tiny yellow flower belongs to the Oregon Grape plant, which is our state flower. I purposefully took this photo to only display the pretty little flowers, as the rest of the plant is not exactly attractive, in my opinion. The short bush grows everywhere around here, and it's leaves resemble a holly leaf. Later in the season, these flowers will turn into dark blue berries.

Out of Hiding

I took this snapshot this past weekend from Lolo Pass. After months of hiding behind the clouds, Mt Hood had come back out for the spring. Two weeks ago, the peak was almost totally white. With the of warm sunny weather we enjoyed since then, more patches of mountain can already be seen through the snowpack. There has been some rain this week, which is expected to continue for a few more days at least. This means it has already been snowing again in the higher elevations.

Refracting

I rarely break out my fisheye lens. It hides in the bottom of my camera bag, only seeing the light of day when I take my macro lens out, which sits on top of it. But on Saturday I was walking through the woods. The sun was shining directly above me and it gave me the idea for todays photo.

Dandelion Fluff

A simple dandelion fluff in my yard, which got caught by the spray of my garden hose.
