Reaching

Here is another photo from my visit to the Swan Island Dahlia Farms. These beauties were reaching sun ward, their petals glowing in the light.

Sunset Moon

I miss a lot of amazing golden hours because I put my son to bed right at the moment that the sun goes down. However, he was tired on this night and went down easy, and when I walked out onto my patio to breathe my sigh of relief that the mommy day was over (all moms out there know what I'm talking about LOL), I saw this beautiful scene and raced back in to collect my camera before it was gone. The sliver moon stood out below the pink clouds so beautifully. What a wonderful end to the day!

Speaking of Stumps...

I mentioned in yesterdays post about the many stumps that line the banks and underwater areas of Timothy Lake. This is another view of the distinct feature of the lake, reflecting in the clear waters around it.

Entwined

One of the most distinct features of Timothy Lake are the many stumps left behind from when the dam was built at the south end in 1956, regulating the flow to Harriet Lake downstream and creating the lake we know today. The roots of this stump are still entwined and I think it is incredible that the old reminders of the forest that once was still exist after all these years.

From One Queen to Another

This busy bee collected nectar from some Queens Annes Lace, appropriately for his own Queen waiting back at the hive.
