This is another view along the Crooked River in central Oregon outside Prineville. The rock formations on the hills surrounding the valley were so interesting. These ones stood out to me, perched high above the clear water and patch of trees and under the blue fluffy cloud skies.
This past weekend I went to visit my Dad and his wife in Prineville. We took the beautiful drive up the Crooked River to the Prineville Reservoir and a bit beyond, where I captured this image of the waters peeking through the foothills that surround it.
Our weather here in Oregon has been nothing but hot, sunny days for about a month and a half now. Back in the spring, my mom, grandma, and I planned a 4 generation trip (to include my son) to Lincoln City, Oregon, to visit the coast. We have been waiting patiently for mid-August
Last Wednesday, the long awaited trip day arrived, and so did the clouds and rain. It started raining about 30 minutes after we rolled into Lincoln City, and didn't really stop misting at the very least until late the next day, once we had arrived home.
Despite the weather, we had a nice time, and still managed to go out and play in the sand with my son, as well as stop at Yaquina Bay Lighthouse for some sightseeing.
I feel like I have not seen as many butterflies this year as in years past. I have been wanting to capture a good butterfly macro, but with the lack of subjects that I have seen, it has been hard. However, I was in central Oregon this weekend and this one fluttered right up to the flowers I was standing next too and patiently waited while I snapped my shot.
