With the wet weather we have been having, people have been keeping themselves indoors. Fine by me! When I went on a hike last weekend, we saw less than a half dozen people on a trail where you normally see a lot of traffic. It was nice being in the quiet woods with only the sounds of your footsteps interrupting the stillness. The forest looks so different in the winter. The most prominent features are the brown trunks, and everything is so bare.

I really love all the bare branches, and living on the gulf coast with a lot of live oaks that don't lose their leaves, they can be harder to find. beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Bare Boughs.
ReplyDeleteI truly love the silence of the forest.
We sure could use some of your wet weather. Very dry here in the central part of California.
It's so true that it's almost spooky being in a forested area all alone - I'm heading out there soon to take the dog for a walk. I hope I don't run into anyone!
