Eliot Branch of the North Fork Hood River

I came across this scene purely by accident. I was driving up the service road beyond Laurence Lake on the north side of Mt Hood when the forest opened up to a huge flood washout. The area of destruction was huge, and quite breathtaking. The waters of the tributary were milky with silt from the glacial runoff that feeds it.

  1. Yep, I've been up here hiking. Very dramatic what water can do.

  2. Very dramatic indeed. It makes for such a striking image.

  3. A really interesting nature and landscape shot.

I appreciate everyone that stops by to check out the Mt Hood to Portland, Oregon area through my photos ... Have a wonderful day!
