Stars over Doug's Beach

stars over Dougs Beach Washington ©www.hoodphotography.com

I have never really tried night photography. I simply was not equipped with a camera that was able to handle the settings needed to do an exposure of the stars. However, I upgraded my camera this past spring, and was out at night this weekend. The stars above were hard to resist, so I set up my tripod and played around a bit. This is the first attempt at a starry sky photo. Granted, it was very, very windy where I was at. There was a Super Moon out and I was not in the middle of the boonies by any stretch of the imagination so there was a lot of light. Not ideal for shooting the skies. But I already can tell it is going to be something I am going to try again and again in better conditions! Watch out night skies, I have my eye on you!

I think it turned out great! I tried my hand with some night photography a few years ago. It was fun and a little tricky. You did awesome!
