Neskowin River

I have been to the tiny beach town of Neskowin, Oregon many times. We took an impromptu visit this past weekend and there was something distinctly different. Neskowin River flows down the beach and around the island of Proposal Rock, draining into the Pacific Ocean. However, I have only seen it flow either all the way around the rock at high tide, or at low tide, off the southern side. But not this visit. The beach sands shifted enough that the river is now flowing into the ocean at the north side of the huge island!

Mt. Hood Over Willamette Falls

Willamette Falls is the Pacific Northwests largest natural waterfall by volume. It is located between Oregon City and West Linn. On a clear day, you can easily spot Mt. Hood looming over the waterfall from a viewpoint off I-205. I had actually never taken the time to stop, but could not help myself when Sunday's weather was so beautiful!
